A Coming of Age Ceremony for Mothers and Daughters

Preparing young girls for puberty is one of the most important acts a mother or female guardian can provide for her daughter. This experience is a blessing in the life cycle of woman, rather than a "curse". In partnership with Pure Light of Laguna Beach this three-part series helps to prepare Mother (or important female Guardian / Care-giver) and empower Daughter as she steps into this new cycle of her life. Through creativity, story-telling and learning about other traditions we create a memorable celebration symbolic of this important event in a young girl's life. - Day 1 is for Mom's/Care-givers only. - Day 2 brings together Mother and Daughter. - Day 3 is a Rites of Passage Celebration for both. This is a beautiful way for Mother and Daughter to honor their connection and importance to one another, and gently yet powerfully move into the creation of this new phase of Daughter's greater autonomy and shifting relationship with Mom.

Divorce Recovery Workshop
Feb. 24 - Mar. 24, 2007
This is a 5 week seminar for anyone suffering from the loss of a significant relationship. Participants will learn about the stages of divorce, from shock, rage and hurt, through forgiveness. Participants will focus on releasing their attachment to the past and moving into self-reclamation. Joan Borysenko and her husband, Gordon Dveirin will be speaking about her 13th book published in October, 2007: "The Golden Compass: What is Spiritual Guidance?" Joan is co-founder of the Claritas Institute for Interspiritual Inquiry and Director of the Interspiritual Mentor Training Program, is known for her clear personal vision – to bring science, medicine, psychology and spirituality together in the service of healing. A Harvard trained medical scientist and a psychologist, she has developed depth and breadth in behavioral medicine, stress, well being, and immunology.
